Vicky Marshall, our managing director, chucked in a grown-up job at Nationwide Building Society to launch Honey’s.
Honey’s is a traditional, family-run, old-fashioned, ethical business.
Our kitchens are based in the depths of rural Wiltshire and we source most of our ingredients from small, local suppliers with the exception of some of the vitamins and supplements. Aloe Vera, for instance, doesn’t really flourish in the English countryside.
Our offices are just up the lane from Vicky's home (she's our managing director), which is why you may sometimes hear dogs and children in the background when you call. We aren’t a big venture and this allows us to offer a genuinely personal service. In fact, we must be the only dog food company in the world that knows every single one of its canine customers by name.
Our vital statistics
Vicky runs the business on a day-to-day basis with the help of Gary (her husband), Jenny (her best friend), Nicky (who looks after the office), Nat (a friend’s son), Jack (his brother), Clare (whose daughter goes to the same school as Vicky’s daughter), Ruth… but you get the picture. We are all related or else good friends. Incidentally, we don’t have any sales function within the business. We share the jobs from meeting with farmers to answering the phone, and from making the food to dealing with emails.
Our Chief Veterinary Surgeon is Tom Farrington MVB MRCVS VetMFHom. Tom practices as a homeopathic vet and also works for Homeopet, one of the leading suppliers of homeopathic remedies for animals.
Our kitchens, offices and packing facility are located in Pewsey, Wiltshire. We are not open to the public but visitors are welcome by appointment.
